INFO
01. Adorno - Life. Love. Don't Need Regret 02. Adorno - Theoretically Driven 03. End of a Year - Michael Ray Richardson 04. End of a Year - Go to Hell, Dickhead
Info
Love this record. A 7 inch split from 2 of the most fresh bands in D.I.Y. punk rock. End Of A Year come from Albany, NY (USA) and they deliver 2 new songs in the old good fashioned punk rock in the vein of Embrace, Rites Of Spring. You all know the sound. Caustic lyrics and a full musical hard-on on their side. 'Michael Ray Richardson' and the noisy 'Go To Hell, Dickhead' are the songs that appear on this record. Flip the side and flip yourself. My cousins from Adorno, the great young band from Lisbon, Portugal, on the other side. Vocal melodies ala At The Drive-In. Pounding bass lines. Amazing 2 emotional songs: 'Life. Love. Don't need regret' a wink to Unbroken and 'Theoretically Driven'. Not Theodor. Just Adorno.

Car vs. Driver began when I was 17 years old. By the time we played our final show, I was 19. This band was the music of my life during a period when people usually experience the greatest amount of freedom, which is what I think of whenever I listen to this music now. There were so many new experiences: living on our own, meeting new people, getting a new perspective on life. Our lifestyle in turn gave us a new perspective on expressing music, and we poured all of our energy and emotion into it. Music that now seems a world away music from a different life. Its hard to remember that everything about being in a band at that time was simply making a 7, buying the cheapest van you could find, and touring the country for the summer. There was no infrastructure to build your music around, which also removed its barriers. Instead of running our band like a corporation, we played peoples living rooms and basements, engaged in kickball tournaments, made record covers out of manila envelopes, slept on top of our van, cooked pasta, and played with some of the most amazing bands in the process. Bands that epitomized the time like Spirit Assembly, Policy of 3, Friction, Current, The Yah Mos, Assfactor 4, Frail, Hoover, Freemasonry, Scout, and Inkwell. The experience we had is something that could never be recreated, and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been a part of that moment in time. Thank you Matt, Steve, and Jonathan for bringing this to me.
LOISIRS started all over at the end of 2000 in Poitiers (France) due to an important reason : make something that sounds like emo-kid music performed by a bunch of old fat guys (you can’t be named kid anymore when 30 is over...). Using weird instruments to make this music (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and vocals), Loisirs (French for Entertainement) is conscientiously speeding up to the wall while honking the horn (rough translation of a French expression ! ! !). Pleasure is the cornerstone to understand Loisirs : pleasure to play neverminding our low-talent level, pleasure to share pleasant experiences with pleasant people (gigs with Myra Lee, Kurt, Eniac, Funeral Diner, Robocop Kraus, Monochrome, Guapo...), and to perform a uncomplicated music for uncomplicated brains. All this commit to bring Loisirs a strong and deserved reputation : the best American band from Poitiers, France. According to wise experts, you may find obvious influences such as Shotmaker, Milemarker, Robocop Kraus and The Rentals in Loisirs’ music. To summ up, it’s only rock’n’roll.

Often compared to the distant early nineties scene of Vermin Scum, Dischord, and Gravity Records, Sinaloa brings the fire of that era's DIY punk and combines it with a grown-up sensibility and a lot of life experience. This is music as lifestyle, and lifestyle as music: deep personal history meets a life in independent music, and the results are a rare breed of idealism and practicality Their newest, Oceans of Islands, picks up where their last two left off: emotive, driving, heartfelt anthems full of dueling vocals, meandering melodies, and slow-burning crescendos. Recorded at Providence, RI's Machines with Magnets (Battles, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah), and featuring the trumpet stylings of Forbes Graham (Erase Errata, the One AM Radio) on two songs, Oceans of Islands is perhaps the best yet showcase for Sinaloa's idiosyncratic drums, guitars, and no bass setup. As always, all three members do vocals—"Sinaloa is a state: Everybody sings," goes the band's motto. Fittingly, the first words on Oceans of Islands are "There's a story in each room": a perfect summary of the band's obsessively attentive and compassionate lyrical outlook. After so many years together, the trio is tighter than ever, and Oceans of Islands is their loudest, most joyful record to date.

We played our first show that following septemeber with at the drive in. we recorded a demo with matt mcfarland and not long after in december we got john theis on drums and recorded our first 7 inch "in line for halos". that line up stayed and we recorded the 6 song cd, split 7 inch with saqqara, split 7 inch with rise from ruin, and the song from "the songs of the dead" comp with that lineup. then around nov/dec of 1999, tanner left mutually and eric moved to gutair and tim jewell from saqqara started to play bass. that was the lineup we had the longest but we only recorded an 8 song cd that never officailly came out, and the split 7 inch with caligari along with one other song that is unreleased.
29 songs on 2 cds, collecting all of the vinyl and CD appearances from this screamy emotional hardcore band from Sioux Falls. Members also played in other crucial midwest hardcore bands like Caligari, Examination Of The..., In Loving Memory, Eclipse Of Eden, and the Hareste. Bcore

Anything But Yours started as a band in Regensburg in 2003 with such influences as Lack, Majority rule and Breach among many others. One year later in 2004 it was the time for our first release then: ‘The doctrine story’ including 3 tracks which got great reviews at German magazines like Ox and several e-zines. It is a 100% DIY product limited to 100 copies. After playing live shows together with Lack, Children of fall, Majority rule, Totalt jävla mörker, My unsaid everything, Eaves, The Smackdown, Lvmen, Six reasons to kill, Japanische Kampfhörspiele, I Pilot Daemon and Analena our next release was in planning besides some other bands we wanted to release through our own label named Heckspoilermusic. In 2006 the track “Egomane” appeared on the ‘The dead pilots compilation’ (a compilation featuring JR Ewing, Khoma and side-projects of members from T(I)NC, Cult of luna and many others). In the same year two tracks were part of ‘Punk is Dad’. But more interesting seems the fact that the first full length with 11 tracks was released as digipack. Now in summer 2007 a split with the lovely I Pilot Dæmon from Toulouse is going to be released in Germany through Heckspoilermusic and of course…France by Lacrymal Records. We puzzled out our sound into a more rocking but also noisy direction - you may name bands like These arms are snakes as important influences now. On the other hand the music seems to be a bit slower than the old stuff and more calm and we know that listeners will have to take some time to get used to it. But they will love the songs then... The EP was mastered by Pelle Henricsson in Sweden at the mighty Tonteknik Recording AB where great bands like Refused and many others recorded their stuff before.

La intensidad que transmiten It's Time To Know o Empty Headed merece que les prestes atención.

Four Hundred Years were not merely a band, but a phenomenon. A force of emo/hardcore intensity that began in Tucson, Arizona, following the end of Groundwork, they eventually migrated to Richmond, Virginia. Four Hundred Years amassed a large, frenzied, and rabid audience. Intelligent and intricate with a perfect blend of melody and dissonance in all the right places, Four Hundred Years had unparalleled abilities to captivate their listeners and turn them loose on an unsuspecting music world. Alternative Press noted, "Combined with the weight of their political views, the tension of Four Hundred Years' music is simultaneously a catharsis and a call to arms."
Four Hundred Years toured Europe, Japan, and America numerous times and played with such notables as Fugazi, Frodus, Sleepytime Trio, and many more. Upon the completion of recording The New Imperialism, their third full-length, they played four final shows on the east coast and disbanded.
Four Hundred Years was originally Ash (drums), Dave (guitar), Erin (bass), and Daron (guitar). Their second and final line-up was Ash (drums) Dave, Bull (bass, formerly of Policy of Three and Montag), and Daron. Currently, Daron and Ash are working together in a project named Delegate.
