Han compartido escenario con grupos como Eight Hands For Khali, High On Fire, Black Cobra, Saviours, Suma, Atomic Bitchwax, Warchetype, Moksha, Iron Batasuna, Positiva, Loan, Rhino, Neila, The Eyes y Monolith.

Their "demo" cd hit me by surprise and I really couldn't refuse to put this out! These folks come from Gothenburg in lovely Sweden and deliver the goods! The demo (minus 1 song though) that you'll find on this black piece of vinyl hold 4 times thundering death and black metal soaked doom, with hints of crust, as well as atmospheric and epic darkness. The guitars range from devastating heaviness to gloomy acoustic sections, with piercing leads that flash through the darkness every now and then. If you've ever wanted to know exactly how your favourite metal, crust, and doom bands would have sounded like if they were one band this is where you should turn. I won't namedrop anything, just ask you to take me on my word that you really need to check this out if you've been even the slightest intrigued with what's written above. Even though I could drop many influential names, as well as list several of your favourite Swedish crustcore bands in the "members of" department. First 1100 copies comes in a nicely done gatefold.

Deadbird came into being in 2002 when Chuck Schaaf left Little Rock’s Rwake and moved to Fayetteville, forming Deadbird with his brother Phillip. Codebreaker picked up the first record in Europe, licensing all of their releases to Earache in the UK. A few tours followed. Alan left for his family. Jay joined and filled the gap. Two tours later, Todd left. Now Reid, from Rwake, has joined.

Austrasia was the name of a forgotten land, between france and germany. Centuries after centuries, the people of Austrasia refused the christian influence and kept a relative independance until the 18th century. Through the ages, this land kept marks of ancient pagan rites, scares of deceases and major conflicts, and shroud of suffering, hidden behind apparent serenity. This green desert attests the fall of a civilization. An isle of freedom. A territorial incarnation of despair. THE AUSTRASIAN GOAT is a way to celebrate a cultural singularity, independantly from any national consideration. The Goat doesn't care about borders. His banner is as black as the depth of his wounded soul. The Goat incarnates a dark truth trough a fragile humanity.

Live at Shimokitazawa Shelter is the first DVD release by Japanese band Boris. It was captured on their Black Summer tour on July 12, 2003. The first ten tracks are songs from the show, which are mostly from the Akuma no Uta and Heavy Rocks albums. Tracks 11-14 are music videos made by the band by Foodunited and Fangs Anal Satan. A loose translation of the first bit of the title is, "From The Tower That Turns A Blind Eye To Death".
Alright, there are only four tracks on here but it’s also available on LP is says on the back - shouldn’t that be a 7" or something? Well, for some bands it should, but knowing Aguirre from before I know they’re in no hurry whatsoever. Very true, these four tracks last for forty minutes - so you’d better be prepared for some doomy and gloomy stuff here. Aguirre take up twenty-five of the total number of minutes with their two tracks and just as on their demo they reek of darkness and agony. It’s so present it’s half painful to listen to it, but that’s also what draws me in. It’s like staring down a bottomless abyss of all that is evil, sensing it, as the complete black allows you to see nothing - and liking it. They haven’t changed a whole lot from their demo, it’s still the minimalist angst with the lonely guitar tunes alternated with thundering heaviness, as with the whispering and roaring vocals - all executed in a real slow pace. It hurts, and I love the pain.

Warchetype it’s a five member band established in Barcelona city, formed during October and November 2005. They all have loads of experience and a strong will of doing their own vision of a potent Doom Metal. Influenced by Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, Candlemass and others, Warchetype´s line up are Iban Arrieta vocals, Jordi Boluda and David Bruguera at guitars, Ivan Román bass player and Pep Caravante drums. Their old bands played from extreme music to old genuine rock, true doom (Monolith, Great Coven), hard rock, rock-metal (The Eyes) and stoner, (Taunus, Camposanto & Santoro). Pep formed Taunus and Ivan Román sings with The Eyes one of 13 Grabaciones released (Pursuing the Misfortune), had gone on tour with Suffocation and High on Fire. Ibán Arrieta played with Great Coven an I Hate Records released (Viaticum), and now in Warchetype plays vocals and lyrics traying to express an allegoric vision of human behaviour, culture, mythology and social degeneration, based in his readings such as Balzac, Kant, Kafka, Hesse, Homero or Jenofonte. Warchetype´s spine are Jordi with his slow-heavy-riffs and David with his genuine rock & blues accent. They all form Warchetype, which in less than a year had gone on tour in Valencia, Irún, Madrid, Donosti, Gandia, festivals and Doom-meetings with Overmars, Rhino, El Páramo, Lords of Bukake, and Neila, the Sabbath Doom Fest with Orthodox, Moho and Moksha at Mephisto in Barcelona. Alone Records is the reference of doom & stoner in Spain and its new released Goat Goddess Supremacy it’s Warchetype´s first album. The battleaxes are sharp to fight the crusade for the hegemony of Doom

Opener "Bliss" consists of nothing but heavily distorted lulls that decay into eerie feedback or low-end drones with the occasional bashed bass note/chord, creating an unclear picture that only hints at what this UK unit has to offer. It's only when "Yes, I Do Own Clothes" kicks in with the full band that Pale Horse's brand of absolutely bleak sludge/doom becomes apparent: Nasty distortion, low tuning, pounding slow tempos... the works. And the cackled vocal screams (at times giving way to soft spoken passages) really fit the aesthetic of the music quite nicely, adding a more acerbic bite to the forefront. Imagine Burning Witch meets Dystopia meets Engine Kid with a few more subtly melodic/dissonant flirtations reminiscent of Godflesh's less tangible instrumentation. There's definitely a lot of space here, with hard-hitting percussion, not to mention a very dominant bass presence... in fact, I think there may be two bassists, as most tracks don't seem to have guitars involved. So, for the most part, expect a constant bludgeoning of sinister atmospheres that definitely invoke a lot of disturbed feelings... but the melodic undercurrents definitely lend a nice helping hand and keep things more colorful. Among some of the more notable moments are when "One But Not Metallica" drops in some deep growling vocals against the screams, and "Mustn't Grumble" uses quietly filtered spoken vocals and dry acoustic guitars to create one of the most moving and unique compositions herein. However, closer "Sun Starved Day (Be Patient)" is fucking amazing, bringing in overtly melodic distorted guitars with lots of ringing chords and soft vocals that are faintly sung - definitely the strongest Godflesh allusions herein, and a song so powerful that it practically eclipses the rest of the disc. An impressive finish, for sure. I'm fucking blown away there. The recording is great as well. Nice and thick, very powerful, clear as fucking day, and still retaining a lot of space and natural presence. The drums sound pretty damn good with a great ring to the cymbals, the vocals are right in the heart of the music, the bass guitar(s) are more effective than most bands who use them so dominantly, and the guitars (when present) sound excellent in all forms - the basically untainted acoustics actually among my favorite textures on the entire CD. Visually this looks quite nice. I'm a big fan of both the colors and general style of the photography, and the handwritten lyrics/text provide another nice touch. There's not a booklet, just two two-sided cards with imagery and text. The lyrics are quite curious, ranging from bleak and abstract to rather narrative, but still obscure: "There's five seconds left till never, Hanged by angel's hair you severed, You cannot conceive of forever, You will be built up to never know..." This is a very strong release, but after hearing the mighty "Sun Starved Day (Be Patient)" I must deduce that this is but a mere taste of what this band is capable of. Its finer moments are absolutely masterful, not that the rest isn't great, it is... but I'm telling you, check out this fucking "Sun Starved Day..." track and you'll be fucking floored. Great work. I look forward to hearing more.
